Ripples

I joined the No End in Sight Ripple along last week and I think I am going to post my first post today.
I have finished almost three repeats out of nine(I think), so I am a third of the way done.
Oh this is my new toy.

Since I have a sewing machine now(yeah!) I sat and did this last night(thanks to http://learningfromchavah.blogspot.com/.)

I bought the material and the crochet thread to make a blanket(ok two). With the extra side material I can make three burp clothes that match. So last night I experimented with the burp clothes to see if I can make them square instead of rounded. I think I'm going to like them rounded better. So I will finish the other one I already hemmed and then take my new compass thingy tonight and round the ends out. Next on the list is a new camera. I hate the pictures that I post.

Eye

I wanted to poke my eye out with my crochet hook so badly last night. I forget how much I hate crocheting and connecting together little fiddly things. Then I don't even think I like it. Not worth the trouble but once I start something that little I had to finish it. So at least it's a FO.

Bunny from Lionbrand in Caron Simply Soft. No gauge swatch, so I wish that I had gone with a smaller hook(which I did go one size smaller but it should have been even smaller). Sorry for the bad photo it has been stormy and was freeze your ass off cold today, especially for it being April.

I've finished almost three groups of the pattern for my ripple. I figured I need to do either 8 or 9 for it to be the length I want it. If it is warmer and sunnier tomorrow I will take a few pics just so that I can post how much bigger it is. Not that it is any different colour wise. Although I still love the colours I'm not in love with the yarn. Oh well I hope it softens up.

Odd thing, I met a very sweet lady at the craft store on Thursday who was having a hard time trying to fix a nightie for her sister that is in a nursing home. Well we got to talking and I offered to help her. So I follow her to her house(I did call Mike on the way to let him know where I was going) I fixed the night gown. And after she wanted to give me a tour of her home. So she starts pulling out ripple afghan after ripple afghan after ripple afghan out of closets and then she starts pulling out granny square blankets and quilts. She couldn't even find all of them. Too funny. We had a great visit and was there for over two hours. I think I will call her this week and take the baby wienies over to visit. I think she might be a bit lonely and I had such a great time talking with her.

Excuse the once again bad photo. This is Mildred taking a bath in the kitchen sink. She was not happy, I'm not sure why her eyes are glowing blue. Does anyone know how to fix it? (ha ok by people I mean the two people that sometimes happen upon my blog, hi!)
Oh and I got a new toy today? I'll post pics maybe tomorrow if I have time, we are celebrating Easter a week late because if the weather.

Up and down

This ripple is addicting. Almost as addicting as reading about everyone else's. So I'm on day three and here are the new pics. Going to work on my ripple.

frustrated

I was up till 5AM this morning trying to figure out the easiest pattern ever. I felt like such an idiot. I did a swatch, it came out ok. Although now that I think of it it wasn't what the pattern said it should do but more of what I thought it should do. The increases and decreases didn't add up on paper but if you look closely the first two rows or so you can figure it out yourself(says the person that chained 135 chains 3 times....plus crocheted a few long rows) Oh well.. So i finally got a piece of paper did boxes for 135 stitches and it didn't add up to the pattern there either. Checked the math about 10 times. My poor husband, I made him sit down with me to make sure I wasn't reading things funny. So I went with it (and didn't exactly follow the pattern...I ended in the middle of a * to * instead of the very end) but on the next row it was right ( except at the end again) ..third row perfect(end again) Isn't it more important that the beginning be right? IT WORKED! I don't know if it is the pattern and I just did it the hard way or if there was really something wrong and I overcame it. I haven't crocheted in such a long time, so who knows. But by the time I went to bed I was feeling better and I finished 4 and a half rows...
Plus I set up my laptop so that I can download from my camera...WHEEEE! (that's a whole other story) So maybe I will post more often. Gonna go cook dinner but I'll end this with my 5 hard earned rows ( I finished the 5th when I woke up) Hoping to triple it tonight. Has anyone else had problems with the soft wave pattern?

I picked four colours that perfectly match our bedding that I'm still in love with... At 50inches I think it will be perfect for throwing over my shoulders in bed when I read...

On my bed...See it matches so far...

I think it is right...see how nice the edges are...

This is the very rough pattern for my colours..I'm way to anal to use the random stripe generator..Although I love the idea of it and I love others random stripes afghans. Maybe I will do that next so that I can use my odds and ends up..

This is my new afghan bag.. Love it!

Wienies and knitting

Well I suck at this.... It has been 6months since I have even logged in to blogger. So long in fact that I had to do the whole reset up with google thing. In my defense I have been doing this.

Ok so for an updated list...excuse the no link thing, I'm not in the mood.
UFOs
~the most boring grey socks(which the embarrassing part is that I posted about these six months ago)

~sweet cherries blanket from lion brand

~a scarf that is on really big needles and hurts my hands so it has been pushed to the back of the list.

~ANOTHER pair of fuzzy feet (this set was for me, I'm about a third of the way done on the second sock).

~I kinda started a mitered blanket out of cotton but I'm in no hurry to finish.. I had to buy a pound cone because I couldn't find anything smaller in the right colour..so mitered blanket it is.

~a block baby blanket my own design..I think is is going to be a charity project for preeclampsia..I'm doing a rectangle of eyelet pink that is 12 by 24 then onto that I'm doing a block of white 12 by 12(it's the yarn from bee blanket that I frogged..more on that later)I still haven't decided what pattern that I'm doing the white in. Then on the other side will either be pink or pink and white 24 by 36, I'm not sure what pattern that will be either. I'm just really enjoying the eyelet right now.

Things planned
~A rippled afghan, I started out crocheting and forgot how much I love it. So I picked up four colours that match my bed in shhh Red Heart. They had the colours I wanted, plus it is going to be a throw and I didn't want to spend a ton on something that I might want to change. I think I'm just going to wash and soften the crap out of it. I hope I don't hate it. I guess if I do I'll just start a second one for the couch out of better yarn.

~Socks for me out of fleece artist...I love the colours(I'll take a pic and put it up one of these days)As in I have it sitting on my table as decorations love it. As I walk by I pet it sometimes..lol...

Things I've frogged
~The bee blanket, I finally acknowledged that it was almost big enough to be a bed spread for my bed...sigh... and I even did a half ass swatch but it just kept stretching and stretching...sigh... Soooo something good is going to come out of this trip to the frog pond. As I posted earlier the yarn I bought after we found out I was pregnant. When I miscarried it was hard to work on it. I have four balls of Caron Simply soft in white, soo what I decided to do was knit baby blankets using another colour and using Livs white to accent it and donate them to charity in her name. I think I will keep one, I'm not sure how I will feel. I guess I will see.

So in all I've had a busy six months. It will even be busier the next few months as we are moving..yeah.. I will try to update more often now that I have a bit more time..
