We have a sitter...

My normally good natured son is missing. Has anyone seen him? Whoever took him left this grouchy baby in his place that is only happy when he is naked. Seriously!
Good news is with all of this naked time he sat up all by himself and rolled over from front to back today. Of course it's the day my batteries are dead on my camera. I'll take pictures tomorrow..

My parents stopped by tonight without all of the kids. They dropped my sister off at the airport and then decided to come and see Joseph (I don't even lie to myself and pretend they are coming to see me). We had a great dinner, I seasoned pork ribs last night and Mike threw them in the oven before he left for work(fall off the bone good), sweet potato casserole and a salad.
Grandma gave Joseph a bath before she left. He was soo happy just crawling all over her and standing on her naked. I swear I'm raising a nudist!

I pulled out my swift tonight and frogged my bff socks. I think I just hate cables. I love how they look but just don't want to work on it. I re skeined the yarn(pain in the ass using a swift) and it is soaking in the sink right now getting the kinks out.
I'm working on a Curly Purly soaker and my Mom's sweater right now and have a shawl and the ribbing of a modified Bird in Hand mitten hibernating. I cast on for a Spring Beret that I wanted to raffle off but I'm just not loving it. I love cotton for dishcloths but hate it for hats. I need to rethink it.
I have two balls of the new Mini Mochi maybe I should make it into that adorable mitten pattern that just came out and raffle that instead? Hmmm?
I think I'll make the purless monkey sock for my next sock project.

*I'm gonna go knit instead of link anything..sorry!

Not Me Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

Where did the week go? Well here goes...

* I most definitely did not only get out of my pajamas twice this week. Once to go grocery shopping and out to eat and then to go to Downtown Mardi Gras.

* I do not keep checking http://www.thegoodmama.com/ to see what new diapers they have listed. We do not have more diapers that we could go through in a week and I do not keep making myself repeat "we do not need anymore diapers". (is there anyway to block a website from yourself?)

* I did not get up on my soap box and send a friend a really nice because I care myspace message with the link to the little boy that was killed because he wasn't in a car seat message because she pulled up at my parents house with her itty bitty 7 yr old in the FRONT seat NOT belted in at all!

* There is no way I um had relations with my dear husband and then had some really strong signs of ovulation that evening. Babies 14 months apart would be crazy! (It took years to get Joseph and two rounds of Clomid so I'm really not holding my breath)

* I did not eat a whole Valentine's box of chocolate in three days even though I said that I don't want/like chocolate.

*I did not give my almost 5 month old a banana in his mesh feeder so that I could eat dinner in peace and I would never laugh at him when he got mad that I took it away.

* I did not take sneaky pictures of everyone when I got out of the bath. My baths are so short that no one would have time to do this.

* I did not prop Joseph up in the corner of the couch and then take a picture of him watching the Oscars just to put it on facebook.

Until next week...

Mardi Gras!

Saturday we woke up in a panic, it was light in our room and Joseph hadn't made a peep! I had laid Joseph down at 1am Saturday morning like normal expecting him to be up anywhere from 4-6am. It was 10:32am! I popped out of bed and ran to his pack and play, looked in and he was still sleeping. He kinda stirred so I reached in and picked him up. At that point I realized my boobs were sooo engorged. Odd, that's NEVER happened before. Thankfully I wasn't leaking, they were so engorged I asked Mike to feel them. He reached over and touched and then had to touch again, he then said "ouch those have got to hurt". He nursed for about 30minutes and then fell back asleep. My Mom and sister got here and I threw a pork loin into roast before I woke him up. They stayed for lunch, I made crunchy rice and roasted tomatoes, onions and garlic to go with the pork.

While they were here we noticed something was going on Downtown. Our bedroom/livingroom windows look out at the heart of Downtown Dallas so any activities we have a pretty good view. I got online to check it out and found out it was Mardi Gras. Joseph napped on Mike while I got ready then we layered him up and headed out. We had fun! I didn't get any pictures of the parade because it started after dark and we were kinda standing back aways. We stood in front of our other building, I was able to stand upon a ledge where I could see. Joseph fell asleep right as the parade started and slept through it all, two marching bands, an 18wheeler honking and a dozen fat men dressed as Elvis on loud mini motorcycles.

They had a stage set up with a band.

This was taken right before the sun went down. I think I got made fun of for taking pictures, Oh well..

I love this picture. It's my new favorite!

We had a great lazy weekend. I really need to write up a Not Me Monday post for tomorrow so check back soon for that!

Randomness

It is 1am on Saturday morning and my baby just went to sleep. He is so my child! He goes to sleep anywhere from 12-1am and sleeps till 4-6am in his crib and then in bed with me until noon!

I have a load of diapers going right now. I washed, dried and then put our rugs down on a freshly vacuumed floor. Between me and the wienies I really need to vacuum three times a week but probably only do it twice a week. I know once Joseph starts getting mobile that will have to end. We have stained concrete floors and one big rug so I just use a stick vacuum, I have to empty it out a few times because it gets full of hair but so much easier than pulling the big vacuum out.

We installed Joseph's new car seat last weekend. After buying and returning the True Fit we went with the Britax Boulevard CS. We love it! I got a little weepy putting his Snug Ride in storage. I'm hoping that in the next few years we will get to use it again but if not I'll pass it down to a family member. I keep teasing my sister that Joseph is asking for cousins. Maybe he will get his wish.

I thought it was really cute at dinner on Wednesday the server(English was not his first language) asked us if this was our first and if we were excited(ok that was kinda odd). We said of yes and of course, he's the best ever! So then he asked something like so do you want a little girl(okay odd again)? I said I would love another little boy and Mike popped in with well maybe three or four more. I think Mike has had a harder time adjusting to having a baby and then with me being home with Joseph all day I sometimes wonder how much he enjoys Joseph and being a Dad. So I thought it was neat that he said he would like a few more. I'm not sure about being pregnant that many more times as that was really hard on me. I have no idea how my Mom did it. She had the nine of us and was pregnant another two times besides that.

Mike put up Joseph's shelves in his room last night. I bought him a few books the last time I was out, my sister gave him a few for Valentine's day and last weekend I picked through all the books at my parents and pull then ones out that had my name on them. The shelves look really good. I put a few of his toys up there that he is still to little for. Very cute! Funny thing is that he sleeps in the loft bedroom with us.

Joseph is working so hard at sitting up by himself. As sad as I am about him growing up he is getting to be sooo much fun. He giggle when I say I'm gonna get him. He is very ticklish!

My Mom is coming in the morning to visit, she is bringing donuts and is picking up wienie food at Costco for me. So I better get to bed.

Not me Monday!

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

* I did not just figure out how to post a big picture up there...I was not half a sleep when I posted last week.

*I did not order 7! more Good Mama diapers yesterday as my Valentine's gift, it was not all Mike's fault as he did not make me hit send.

*I did not put my poor baby in his new car seat just to take a picture of him even though he hates car seats.

*I did not forget to pull the belly pad up!

*I did not want to strangle Jack yesterday when learning it was his bath time he ran to the middle of my livingroom and proceeded to pee on this(that was on the floor because we were doing tummy time). My dogs are all very well behaved and would never do that!

*On the subject of dogs. My girls would never get in such a fight that one of them would reach up and bite Mike way too close to the valuables! Never! It did not draw blood and I did not laugh, not even a little.

*I did not think for a minute that when my Dad asked me to watch my two youngest sister yeah four more arms to hold Joseph and just maybe I would get to take a bath without Mike sitting in the bathroom with Joseph or it being 3am.

*When we got home from Walmart my sister did not tell me that my neighbor was home and then say shocked "and he's in his underwear" ala Friends- ugly naked guy. Except uh, not ugly.

*It's my job to cook tasty, nutritional meals while Mike works his butt of to buy diapers uh pay bills and I most definitely did not feed him and my sister some very oddly seasoned chicken legs Saturday.

Until next week.

Random Picture Challenge 6.0

13th folder, 3rd picture. Our little cabin in Ruidoso New Mexico. We went to get away on what would have been the due date of the baby I miscarried. It turned into a really good trip and I'm really glad we went. We would love to go back with Joseph one day.

Not tagged

A few days ago I got a really nice email from Melissa, who I had never met before. She was having difficulties with the Soft Waves Ripple. I sent her the "corrections" and she was nice enough to let me know that they worked for her. YEAH! I was reading her blog and noticed a fun tag that she had gotten that had you open the 6th picture folder on your computer, and then take the 6th photo in that folder and blog about it. I of course had to see what my picture was and it is a new one, well not really new. Last weekend I transferred all of the pictures that my sister had of us on her flash drive to my computer. So here we go.

"Open the 6th picture folder on your computer, open the 6th photo and blog it. Write something about it. Then tag 6 more people to do the same."

Joseph is 330 minutes old here. We had been in our room about 150 minutes. My Mom is holding him and Jessica took the picture. Jessica had been at the hospital the night before while I was in labor but had to leave because she had to work the next morning, she ended up working really short shifts for the next few days. So this was the first time she saw him. I'm really thankful she had her camera, I have quite a few pictures from that morning but it is nice to have even more.

Not me Monday

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

This is my first week participating in Not me Monday. I've been following My Charming Kids for a few weeks now and she makes everything look like so much fun so here we go..

I did not spend almost 300$ on more cloth diapers, hit up the yarn store and go to Ikea even though our income tax check is being held hostage until Monday at H&R block..

I did not get grossed out when Mike told me the guy behind me at dinner took his dentures out and LICKED them... My god! I know we were not(really) at a 5 star restaurant but that should just be saved for when you are alone...

I did not give in and give Emory a super short hair do..Her ears do not look like a cocker spaniels...

I did not talk Mike into taking Joseph and my sisters to the bowling ally by himself so that I could take a long bath...

I'm sure I have plenty more things I didn't do this week but I think I am not going to sneak away and take a long bath with Harry Potter...

On a serious note... This family went through what I think is the worst thing that could happen to someone, they lost little Cora.. Please go leave them a little love.
